Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), said she attended the AVBCC Summit because oncology nurse and patient navigation is "all about value" across the cancer care continuum.

We are making progress, but oncology nurse navigators need to have a louder voice in these meetings with stakeholders because, as patient advocates, they are often the keepers of patient experience, said Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+).

Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), said navigators have "boots on the ground" experiences with patients with cancer, their families, and their caregivers, and oncology navigators are the professionals best suited to deliver these voices to the stakeholders who need to hear them.

Every patient with cancer should have a navigator, said Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), and she would like to see AVBCC take a role in realizing this vision.

Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), would like to see everyone with an interest in patient care come to the next AVBCC Summit and learn from navigators how to sustain navigation programs and to learn more about financial navigation.

Oncology navigators should attend because the AVBCC Summit provides an opporutnity to come together as one unified voice and also to hear from others in the field, said Sharon Gentry, MSN, RN, HON-ONN-CG, AOCN, CBCN, Program Director, Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+).

Sibel Blau, MD, President & CEO, Quality Cancer Care Alliance Network, Medical Director, Oncology Division, Northwest Medical Specialties, said her organization is interested in practice transformation and value-based care and AVBCC is the "best conference ever" to meet the individuals who can address questions about value-based care.

Understanding how other institutions, practices, and companies are envisioning the future of value-based care is an invaluable benefit, and the chance to network with others is "priceless," said Sibel Blau, MD, President & CEO, Quality Cancer Care Alliance Network, Medical Director, Oncology Division, Northwest Medical Specialties.
