Dr Lee Newcomer to Deliver a Keynote Address at 2019 Summit

Lee Newcomer, MD, Senior Vice President, UnitedHealthcare, has more than 30 years of experience in oncology management, first as a practicing oncologist, and then in the healthcare industry, where he has maintained a focus on affordable and effective cancer care. Before joining UnitedHealth Group in 1991, Dr Newcomer served in Kansas City as the Medical Director for Cigna Healthcare, was a founder of the consumer directed venture, Vivius, and former chairman of Park Nicollet Health Systems. At UnitedHealth Group, where he was Chief Medical Officer until 2001, he developed performance measures and incentives aimed at improving clinical care. In 2006, he returned to lead the company’s initiative in the improvement of cancer care quality and affordability. Dr Newcomer holds an MD from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
